Mondo Terracqueo
The installation by artist Marco Nereo Rotelli is the first step of a comprehensive project aimed at enhancing and illuminating Portofino as a microcosm of land and sea, a complete model of beauty and a symbol of a possible balance between culture and nature. The 250 cm tall sphere will be placed in the middle of the harbor and will be accessible via a floating walkway, offering a unique pathway that leads people into the sea to discover precious messages of environmental sustainability. Made of steel, it features words dedicated to the sea and the planet, engraved through the use of fire, taken from the works of the world’s greatest poets. The core of the project and the installation itself is light, which is a true stylistic hallmark of Rotelli.
