“Mine is an extended photography, a collage that extends time. For me, it’s fascinating not to be bound by the uniqueness of a single photo. I prefer to rely on a sequence, almost a panorama, where the lens is mobile. This is made possible because I possess a unique camera that I personally modified to achieve this panoramic sequence effect. There is no camera on the market capable of capturing these types of photos. With this camera, I can change the perspective and viewpoint with every shot, something that a traditional panorama cannot provide, as it is limited to capturing a single moment and doesn’t express the surrounding time. I’m not seeking the perfection of the image; rather, I prefer to take handheld photos without using a tripod, allowing me to be mobile, flexible, and instinctive. Working with image collages is highly communicative, more vibrant than a static image. Both dimensions should coexist, just as they do in reality—simultaneous and open to contamination, just like my photography aims to be.”” Joe Oppedisano
